Summer Reading program at Good Local Market
It’s a busy summer at Good Local Markets as we partner with the Mayor’s Summer Reading Club, where readers will win a $5 GLM coupon for each milestone they reach. Sign up at local branches Audelia Branch Library, Lochwood Public Library, White Rock Hills Branch Library, and Skillman Southwestern Library. The $5 coupon prizes are accepted at both GLM market locations. Each coupon has a special recipe on the back from GLM farmers. Collect them all! AND, kids who redeem their coupon can sign up for our Power of Produce Club – join us for POP activities during the summer and fall – and win more market prizes! Read books, eat good food.
The Power of Produce Club is a partnership with Chipotle and the Farmers Market Coalition, to reward children for participation in the market. By tasting new foods, completing a scavenger hunt and other activities, kids earn $2 POP Bucks to spend at the market. Join us for POP activities during the summer and fall – and win more market prizes! Schedule coming soon.
Love Your Farmer Day
Throughout the year Good Local Markets host Love Your Farmer Days, when volunteers can visit and work on a local farm or garden. Volunteers weed, build chicken coops, plant seeds, and eat the best home-cooked food. Love Your Farmer Days give us all a chance to better connect with our neighbors and experience a more personal link to our food supply, and bring that knowledge home to our own kitchens and gardens.
